It was all the Frontier League All-Stars tonight as they shutout the Can-Am League All-Stars by the score of 7-0.
After two scoreless innings to begin the game, the Frontier League took a 4-0 lead in the third as LF Hector Roa (Washington Wild Things) singled home SS Austin Wobrock (Florence Freedom) and 1B J.J. Fernandez (Washington Wild Things) blasted a three-run home run. The score would remain the same until the sixth when the Frontier League added another run as C Andy Cosgrove (Southern Illinois Miners) crossed home plate on a double by CF/RF Ricky Ramirez, Jr. (Florence Freedom). The Frontier League would add to two more insurance runs to finish off the contest, one on a single by C Rob Calabrese (Evansville Otters) in the seventh and another one in the ninth on a CF Shawon Dunston, Jr. (Gateway Grizzlies) sacrifice fly.
In total, the Frontier League had 14 hits in the game. Roa went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI while Fernandez had two hits in three at-bats along three RBIs.
Frontier League pitcher Tyler Gibson (Lake Erie Crushers) notched the victory. Gibson struck out one in an inning of work.
For the Can-Am League, CF Jiandido Tromp (Ottawa Champions) went 2-for-3.
