The Rockland Boulders (14-8) picked up their third consecutive win, routing the Trois-Rivières Aigles (9-14) 10-1. The Boulders' bats were hot from the jump, building a 7-0 lead over the first four innings. John Brontsema paced Rockland's offensive attack, collecting three hits (including his third home run of the year) and finishing a triple shy of the cycle.
Cito Culver and Adam Ehrlich also did their part for the Boulders, contributing a combined four hits and three RBI's on the afternoon. That would prove to be plenty of run support for Boulders' starter Justin Valdespina, who allowed one run in five innings of work to pick up his first win of the year. Valdespina also struck out six Aigles on the day.
The Boulders will look to pick up their fourth straight win as they continue their series with Trois-Rivières tomorrow night. First pitch for the middle game of the series is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Stade Stereo Plus.
