Kids 7-14 Can Enter - Winner to Appear LIVE on Eleven Sports

(POMONA, NY) – The Rockland Boulders announced today the start of the 2019 Junior Broadcaster Competition, presented by the NY529 College Savings Program Direct Plan. Submissions for the competition will be open from now until Sunday, August 18 with the finalist live on the air as part of the Boulders Broadcast Network on Sunday, August 25.

Seth Cantor, the “Voice of the Boulders”, the team’s Director of Business Development as well as a national sportscaster on SiriusXM and CBS Sports Radio, is enthusiastic about this contest; “What a unique opportunity for aspiring broadcasters in our area who want to pursue a career in this special industry. We have always had a terrific pool of contestants and I’m looking forward to seeing what this year’s group has to offer!”

Aspiring broadcasters can enter by emailing Seth at scantor@rocklandboulders.comContestants will be asked to provide their Name, Age, City/State, and a short one-paragraph essay explaining why they want to be a broadcaster. Kids ages 7-14 are eligible for the competition, with the Grand Prize being the opportunity to join Cantor or Marc Ernay, veteran sports anchor on New York City’s iconic 1010 WINS radio, on the Boulders Broadcast Network.

Submissions will be accepted until 5PM on Sunday, August 18. The winner will be announced Monday, August 19 as this individual will be invited to call one inning during the 8/25 game against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles at 5:00 nationally on the Eleven Sports Network and throughout the Lower Hudson Valley on AM-1700 WRCR. The finalist will also receive a commemorative Boulders prize pack, while throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Boulders Broadcast Network broadcasts select home games nationally live on Eleven Sports (channel 597 on Verizon FIOS and 622 on DIRECTV) with all home games on WRCR and CanAmLeague.TV for free.
