The 2019 season came to a close for the Rockland Boulders with an 8-4 loss to the Sussex County Miners at Skylands Park.  Sussex County took the best-of-5 series, 3-1, and advances to the Can-Am League Championship where they will meet the New Jersey Jackals in defense of last season's title.

Rockland starter JD Busfield, working on just three days' rest, turned in a solid start, yielding just solo runs in the first and fifth innings but he was outdueled by Miners' starter and former Boulder David Palladino.

Though Rockland succeeded in pushing across a run in the fourth, Palladino carried a no-hitter into the visiting seventh, nursing what had become a 3-1 lead.

Sussex County blew the game open with fiver runs in the bottom of the seventh, and while Marcos Almonte's two-run double in the eighth closed the gap, it was too little, too late for Rockland. Busfield took the loss for the Boulders while Palladino was credited with the win.
