The future looks a bit brighter for the New York Boulders after the success enjoyed by a trio of off-season signings in this past season’s California Winter League action.

Outfielder Matt Feinstein topped the eight-team circuit in batting average with a .488 mark, while catcher Hunter Hisky was third in the category with a .441 mark, followed by corner infielder Miguel Pimentel at .421.

All three are expected to contend for starting spots on this year’s Boulders.

In addition, Hisky’s 19 RBIs was second-best in the league and three more than Pimentel (16), who ranked fourth.

Feinstein ended the season with 14 RBIs, 10th best in the league.

Feinstein and Hisky played in 16 games over the winter, while Pimentel did his damage at the plate in only 11 contests.

Feinstein, a 6’3”, 195-pound righthanded hitter from Old Brookville, NY played his college ball at Dartmouth College.  He was joined on the Oregon Lumberjacks by Pimentel, a 6’1”, 200-pound righthanded hitter from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic who played collegiately at Lee University in Cleveland, TN.

Hisky, a lefthanded hitter, played over the winter for the Manitoba North Stars. The catcher is from Kansas City, MO and attended for Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO.

All three are 2019 college graduates.

“I am excited about our good, young talent,” Boulders’ President Shawn Reilly said, “and the success of these three young men should give fans an idea of the exciting brand of Boulders’ baseball they will experience this summer” he said.
