In the fourth week of voting to fill out the New York Boulders’ All-Decade team, fans selected Jerod Edmondson as the franchise’s top first baseman, landing him a spot on the on the roster.

As part of the New York Boulders’ Bould Decade celebrating the franchise’s first 10 years of play, fans have been voting to fill one position on our All-Decade team each week for eight successive weeks.

Voting for the first base spot, which concluded on Thursday, May 7, was sponsored by Gilligan’s Clam Bar and Grill of Pomona and offered fans the opportunity to select one nominee from a group of five first sackers who excelled for the Boulders.

A member of the 2014 Can-Am championship team, the lefty swinging Edmondson (2013-2014) was a model of consistency over his two seasons in Rockland, hitting a combined .288 and totaling 23 HRs and 139 RBI. Over an eight-year career in the Can-Am League, Edmondson accumulated 751 base hits, which ranked him first in league history at the time of his retirement in 2014. He has since been surpassed by Sebastian Boucher.

“This is an awesome honor,” Edmondson said. “It means a lot to me. Some of my fondest memories are those from my years in Rockland.”

He added, “It is an honor to be recognized as one of the best to have played in Rockland.”

Other candidates for the first base position on the All-Decade team included Ryan Scoma (2012), Charlie Law (2013-2015), Jared Schlehuber (2016) and Mikael Mogues (2017-2018).

Edmondson joins catcher Marcus Nidiffer, starting pitchers Richard Salazar and Bo Budkevics, and closer Adrian Martin as fan selections over the first four weeks of voting.

Voting for the All-Decade team is continuing this week as fans have the opportunity to select a shortstop from a group of five nominees who excelled for the Boulders.
