As part of the New York Boulders’ Bould Decade celebrating the franchise’s first 10 years of play, fans have been voting to fill one position on our All-Decade team each week for eight successive weeks.

Voting for the All-Decade shortstop, which concluded on Thursday, May 14 was sponsored by Humdinger’s of Paramus, NJ, and offered fans the opportunity to select one nominee from a list of five second basemen who excelled for the Boulders.

After spending time in 2012 and 2013 with the Boulders, Nandin took over the second base job for the 2014 season and hit a robust .296 with 69 runs scored and 40 RBI. Additionally, he played a solid defensive second base, committing just five errors in 404 chances for a .988 fielding percentage for the 2014 Can-Am League champions. In his three years with Rockland, he batted .286 with six HRs, 89 RBI and 120 runs scored.

This means a lot,” Nandin said of the honor. “As someone who spent his whole career playing in the Can-Am League, this is an honor that makes you feel really good.”

In a five-year career in the Can-Am League, Nandin started with New Hampshire in 2009 before moving to Pittsfield for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He split the 2012 season between New Jersey and the Boulders.

Nandin wrapped up his playing career with two years, 2013 and 2014, in Rockland and won the spot on the All-Decade team with 55% of the vote.

Other candidates for the second base position on the All-Decade team included Danny Bomback (2013), Giuseppe Papaccio (2014-2015), Dylan Tice (2017) and Ryne Birk (2019).
