The Equipe Quebec and New York Boulders faced off for game two of a three-game series on what was a hot yet windy night in Pomona, New York.

The wind created struggles for both teams as the game progressed. The ball had less carry allowing for lots of pop-ups and short balls, resulting in a low-scoring 4-2 victory for Quebec.

Quebec cashed in early at the top of the first inning. Jeffry Parra hit a double sending home, L.P. Pelletier and David Glaude for the first two runs of the game. New York answered right back at the bottom of the first.

Jack Sundberg was sent home after a sacrifice fly by Kevonte Mitchell. Ryan Ramiz’s single to center field then sent home Zach Kirtley evening the score at 2-2 heading into the second inning.

Quebec regained the lead at the top of the third after a two-run single by Jesse Hodges. This would be the last score of the game as the next six and a half innings went scoreless after a strong performance by both bullpens. New York’s bullpen would only give up one hit in four innings.

Both starting pitchers' nights came to an end after five innings pitched. For the Boulders, Danny Wirchansky tagged the loss as he threw over 100 pitches giving up four runs on six hits. He tossed five strikeouts in the 26 batters faced.

David Gauthier allowed two runs on five hits. He tallied three strikeouts and picked up the win for Quebec. Andrew Case picked up his ninth save of the season.

The final game of the three-game set is set for tomorrow night, July 1, at Palisades Credit Union Park at 7 pm
