EQUIPE QUEBEC DOWNS BOULDERS TO EXTEND WIN STREAK TO 10

Rockland County, NY (August 25, 2021) – Equipe Quebec won for the 10th straight time as they downed the New York Boulders 8-2 on Wednesday at Palisades Credit Union Park.

Quebec broke from the gate quickly to seize control of the game by scoring in each of the first four innings as they moved out to a 5-1 lead.

A Jeffry Parra single gave Quebec a 1-0 advantage in the first inning, then Gift Ngoepe's RBI single made it 2-0 in the second. Quebec scored twice in the third to double their advantage to 4-0 on a run-scoring triple from Connor Panas and a sacrifice fly by Jonathan Lacroix. A sacrifice fly by Ngoepe made it 5-1 in the fourth.

Quebec tacked on three runs in the eighth on an RBI single by David Glaude and a two-run single by Raphael Gladu that increased their lead to 8-1.

Kevonte Mitchell drove in both Boulders' run - one on an RBI double in the third, the second with an eighth inning sacrifice fly.

Robby Rowland took the loss for the Boulders, allowing l runs in 5 2/3 innings on eight hits. He walked one and struck out three as he fell to 1-2 on the season.

Miguel Cienfuegos got the win for Quebec, going seven innings and surrendering only one run on three hits while walking two and striking out nine. He improved to 8-6 on the year.
