Rockland County, NY (May 17, 2022) – Braxton Davidson hit a two-run home run and the Schaumburg bullpen tossed four scoreless innings as the visiting Boomers, the defending Frontier League champions, downed the New York Boulders 3-2 on Tuesday night at Clover Stadium in Pomona.

With the Boomers leading 1-0 in the top of the third inning, Clint Hardy doubled with one out before Davidson hit a long home run, his first of the season, to right-center to boost the Schaumburg advantage to 3-0.

New York crept within 3-2 in the fourth inning when David Vinsky hit a two-run home run into the rightfield short porch.

Schaumburg broke on top in the first inning on an RBI single by Matt Bottcher.

Kyle Arjona went the first five innings for Schaumburg, allowing two runs on four hits while walking one and striking out four. He was followed to the mound by Juan Pichardo, Kristian Scott, Darrell Thompson, Jake Joyce and Thomas Nicoll, who combined to close out the game with four scoreless frames.

Algenis Martinez took the loss for the Boulders, going four innings and surrendering three runs on three hits. He walked three and struck out one.

Luke Dawson, Dylan Smith and Zach Schneider teamed up to throw five scoreless relief innings for the Boulders, who limited Schaumburg to only three hits.

Tucker Nathans had two hits for the Boulders in the loss, which snapped their two-game winning streak as they kicked off a six-game homestand.
