Rockland County, NY (July 12,2022) – The New York Boulders smashed a Frontier League record nine home runs  and tied a pair of other offensive team single game marks in a 23-8 rout of the Tri-City Valley Cats on Tuesday at Clover Stadium in Pomona.

David Vinsky and Chris Kwitzer each hit two home runs in the win, while Austin Dennis, Giovanni Garcia, Gian Martellini, Gabriel Garcia and Max Smith each homered once.

The old mark of six home runs in a game was set on Aug. 14, 2018 against the New Jersey Jackals.

The 23 runs tied the team mark set back on July 5, 2017 against the Ottawa Champions; while the 21 hits on the day also tied the team mark, that one set back on June 20, 2021 versus  the Jackals.

Martellini hit a two-run homer in the third, his sixth of the year, which was followed by a solo home run by Garcia, his fifth of the season.

In the fourth, Vinsky's solo home run was his ninth of the year; while, later in the frame, Kwitzer smacked a three-run homer, his ninth of the year.

Smith's sixth of the year, a two-run shot, came in the fifth inning and was followed three batters later by Dennis' home run, his fourth of the year, a solo shot.

In the sixth, Garbella set the new team record, with a solo homer in the sixth, his seventh of the season. Vinsky hit his second of the game, a three-run blast, in the seventh, the homer giving him ten on the year..

Kwitzer followed with his second of the afternoon, a two-run shot in the eighth, his 10th of the year.

Every batter in the Boulders' line-up registered at least one base hit and eight of the nine recorded an RBI.

July Sosa picked up the win in relief of starter Robby Rowland for the Boulders. Sosa pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed just two hits and no runs. He did not walk a batter and struck out three as he improved to 2-0 on the season.

Thomas Kretzler was tagged with the loss for the Valley Cats. It was his first decision of the season.
