Rockland County, NY (July 22, 2022) – The New York Boulders rallied with four runs in the seventh inning to overtake the visiting Florence Y'Alls and post a 7-4 win on Friday night at Clover Stadium in Pomona.

The victory was the fourth in a row for the Boulders.

Trailing 4-3 in the seventh, the Boulders erupted for four runs to grab a 7-4 advantage. Gabriel Garcia led off with a double, then, one out later, a Giovanni Garbella single knotted the contest at 4-4. Chris Kwitzer's single put two runners on and, with two outs, Ray Hernandez lined a single to left to give New York the lead at 5-4.

Max Smith's pop up to short left was misplayed by Y'Alls' shortstop Alberti Chavez and allowed Kwitzer to score to make it 6-4. Jake MacKenzie followed with his third hit of the night, a single that scored Hernandez with the run that made it 7-4.

The base hits extended MacKenzie's hitting streak to a dozen games,

The Boulders had scored twice in the fifth to knot the game at 3-3. A Garcia singled plated MacKenzie with the run that closed the New York deficit to 3-2; then a Garbella sacrifice fly scored David Vinsky with the tying run.

Florence opened the night with a pair of runs against Boulders' starter Rob Rowland in the top of the first inning. Anthony Brocato's single scored the first run, while a double by Ethan Stern made it 2-0.

The Boulders answered with one run in the bottom of the first. MacKenzie led off with a triple and scored on a groundout by Vinsky.

Florence regained their two-run advantage in the fifth, taking advantage of errors by Rowland and first baseman Ray Hernandez that allowed Cooper Edwards to score from first base on an errant pickoff attempt.

Ryan Munoz got the win in relief for New York, his second victory of the season against one loss; while Darwin Ramos, in his season debut for Florence, was tagged with the loss.

Leo Pineda earned his fourth save with a scoreless ninth inning for New York,
