The host Ottawa Titans evened this crucial three-game set with the New York Boulders with a 3-2 win on Wednesday at Ottawa Stadium.

A,J. Wright's seventh inning double scored pinch-runner Kai Moody to give the Titans a 3-1 lead - and the insurance run they needed after the Boulders' David Vinsky answered with a solo home run in the top of the  eighth off Ottawa reliever Nelson Gonzalez.

The home run was Vinsky's 17th of the year.

Kevin Escorcia came on to pitch the ninth for Ottawa and struck out the side around a two-out single by Giovanni Garbella to record his 14th save of the season.

The Boulders got on the scoreboard in the top of the first on an RBI single by Gabriel Garcia off Ottawa starter Kaleb Schmidt.

Ottawa responded with two in their half of the first on an RBI triple by Jackie Urbaez and a run-scoring groundout by Rodrigo Orozco.

The score stayed 2-1 until the seventh as the pitchers took over. For New York, starter Rob Rowland lasted 6 2/3 innings and allowed just four hits and three runs, while walking five and striking out one. After allowing Urbaez' first inning triple, Rowland did not allow another hit until the seventh.

Meanwhile, Schmidt lasted five innings and surrendered three hits and one run. He walked two and struck out six.

Rowland was tagged with the loss and fell to 4-4 on the year, while Schmidt got the win, his second of the season against no losses.
