BOULDERS COP RUBBER GAME OF SERIES WITH TITANS

Francisco Del Valle hit two of visiting New York’s four home runs as the Boulders took the rubber game of their crucial three-game series in Ottawa with an 11-4 win at Ottawa Stadium on Thursday.

Del Valle led off the game against Ottawa starter Zac Westcott with a home run, then added a second solo shot an inning later to help the Boulders race out to a commanding 11-0 lead in the third inning.

New York also received a three-run first inning blast from Chris Kwitzer that gave the visitors a quick 5-0 lead.

Leading 6-0 heading into the top of the third, the Boulders scored five runs for the second time in the game’s first three frames. Austin Dennis knocked in two runs with a double and Gabriel Garcia later in the inning hit a three-run home run to give New York an 11-0 advantage.

For Del Valle, the two home runs gave him four on the season, while Kwitzer’s shot gave him 17. Garcia’s dinger was his 15th of the year.

Alex Mack started on the hill for New York and picked up his seventh win in 10 decisions this season. The righthander lasted five innings and allowed eight hits and four runs – two earned – while walking two. Mack did not walk a batter.

Kyle Mott, Ryan Munoz, Dan Goggin and Dylan Smith closed out the game on the mound for the Boulders.

Westcott took the loss for the Titans, surrendering 11 hits and 11 runs – six earned – while walking one and striking out five. The loss left Westcott at 8-3 on the year.

Ottawa got a solo home run from Brendon Dadson, his 14th of the year, while Jackie Urbaez, Rodrigo Orozco and Mitsuki Fukuda also had an RBI each.
