Weekend Showdown on Tap with 2-Time Defending Champs

Rockland County, NY – The New York Boulders are off to their best 17-game start in franchise history, with 13 wins, as they welcome the two-time defending Frontier League champion Québec Capitales in to Clover Stadium for a three-game weekend series.

First pitch tonight is 7:05pm EDT, with the series continuing tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:35pm and wrapping up Sunday at 1:35pm.

Manager TJ Stanton’s squad has posted seven come-from-behind victories already, and leads the league with 28 home runs & 128 runs scored while batting a league-best .307 — which is 19 points clear of any other team.

LF David Vinsky is tied for the league lead with 6 HRs and is ahead of the pack with 25 RBIs.

Last night’s win vs. Sussex County gave the Boulders a series win against their neighbors from northwest New Jersey and featured a stellar start from RHP Blaine Traxel, who tossed New York’s first 9-inning complete game since the Can-Am and Frontier Leagues merged in 2021.

This series marks the middle of the Boulders’ season-high nine-game home stand, which features a return visit from the Miners starting on Tuesday, June 4th, with a special School Day start time of 10:35am EDT.

Debuting in 1993, the Frontier League is the largest and longest running of the modern independent leagues, and features teams stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River and from the Ohio River to the St. Lawrence Seaway. In September of 2020, the Frontier League reached an agreement to become a “Partner League” with Major League Baseball.

As a “Partner League,” the Frontier League and its teams meet on a regular basis with MLB representatives to discuss joint marketing and promotional opportunities, as well as collaborate on initiatives to provide organized baseball to communities throughout the United States and Canada.
