Rockland Boulders Manager Jamie Keefe was named the Can-Am League Manager of the Year in a vote of league managers and media members, as announced Sunday afternoon. It is the second straight year, and third time overall, which Keefe has received the honor.
In his third season with the Boulders, Keefe has continued to elevate the franchise to new heights. Rockland has already set franchise records in wins (61), home wins (35), winning streak (11), and games above .500 (27), while also breaking numerous league marks. The 2015 offense has broken the Can-Am League record for doubles, runs scored, and RBI in a single season, while Junior Arrojo, Joe Maloney, Jared McDonald, Marcus Nidiffer, and Stephen Cardullo have all broken, or are on pace to break, multiple league records of their own.
This season has been a special one for Keefe, who won his first ever championship in 2014 when Rockland was crowned Can-Am League champs. On Thursday, September 3, Keefe picked up his 600th career victory, including seven playoff wins. He has also led the Boulders to consecutive regular season titles and the top spot in the 2015 playoffs.
In his 13th year as a professional manager, Keefe has now earned back-to-back Can-Am League Manager of the Year awards, winning it in 2014 as well. He was also named Manager of the Year in 2011 with the Pittsfield Colonials after leading them to a playoff appearance. His three Manager of the Year awards are the most by any manager in Can-Am League history.
Rockland is in the midst of a three-game series at Sussex County to conclude the regular season before heading into the postseason. The Boulders will host games 3, 4 (if necessary), and 5 (if necessary) of the Can-Am League playoffs on September 11, 12, and 13 respectively. Fans can purchase their individual tickets or their 2015 Championship Pass by sliding to www.RocklandBoulders.com, calling (845) 364-0009 or visiting the box office.
