Dominican Grad Joins Boulders

(POMONA, NY) - The Rockland Boulders signed Tyler Clark, a catcher, marking the first transaction for the team in 2016.

Entering his third year as a professional, Clark spent 2015 with the Windy City ThunderBolts of the Frontier League where he hit two home runs with 12 RBI in just 57 games. He also boasted a .991 fielding percentage behind the plate, committing just four errors.

An undrafted free agent, Clark began his pro career in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, quickly climbing the ladder during the 2014 campaign. After hitting .290 in Rookie Ball, he advanced to Double-A Mobile before playing in one game with Triple-A Reno. The switch-hitting catcher hit a combined .265 with the DBacks over the course of the year.

A 2014 graduate of Dominican College, Clark is no stranger to Provident Bank Park. The 6'5" backstop led the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in runners caught stealing as a senior and sported a .992 fielding percentage. He ranked sixth in the CACC in doubles, stolen bases, and ninth in runs scored and was named to the East Region Gold Glove First Team as well as the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team.
