Boulders Pitcher/First Baseman Hangs It Up

(POMONA, NY) - Following a three-year career, all of which was spent with the Boulders, Charlie Law announced his retirement today.

Law spent three seasons with Rockland, the first two as a pitcher before moving to first base for the 2015 campaign. In two years on the bump he registered a 4-9 overall record with a 4.71 earned run average. His 2014 season was cut short in July after just 11 appearances due to injury. However, he was on the field when the team won the Can-Am League title that September.

In 2015, Law belted an impressive .310 with 10 home runs and 58 runs batted in, earning an All-Star nod. His 107 hits ranked 6th in the league while also finishing 10th in batting average, and 12th in both RBI and runs scored (62).

Law's name will forever live in Boulders lore as on August 23, 2013, he pitched the first ever no-hitter for the franchise, a seven-inning affair. He also became the first player in team history to record a strikeout and a hit while his home run during a batting practice session in 2014 cleared the centerfield wall, the first and only time the feat was accomplished.
