Schlehuber Signs with Rockland

Former Jackal Joins Boulders

(POMONA, NY) - The Rockland Boulders announced the signing of corner infielder Jared Schlehuber for the 2016 season on Tuesday. Schlehuber enters his second season in the Can-Am League, spending 2015 with the New Jersey Jackals.

An everyday player for the Jackals, Schlehuber spent time at first base, third base, and left field, helping New Jersey reach the Can-Am League Championship Series. The 6'3" righty hit .290 with five home runs and 53 runs batted in in 93 games last season. The 2015 campaign marked his first in indy ball, having spent the previous three years in the Kansas City Royals organization.

Originally signed by the Royals out of Oral Roberts University, he reached Double-A Northwest Arkansas in 2014, playing in 46 games for the Naturals. In three years with the Royals Schlehuber hit .260 with 21 homer and 110 RBI. He also played 43 games for the Melbourne Aces of the Australian Baseball League in 2013.
