Former Phillies Prospect Comes to Rockland

(POMONA, NY) - The Rockland Boulders announced today the addition of right-handed pitcher Kyle Bogese for the 2016 season. A 6'0", 195lbs. hurler out of Trinity University, he enters his third year of professional baseball.

In his first season of pro ball, Bogese went 2-0 in 13 relief appearances for the Gulf Coast League Phillies in 2014 before moving on to the Frontier League in 2015. There, he pitched for the Greys, a true road team, tossing more than 56 innings out of the bullpen.

A native of Chester, Virginia, the righty went 8-1 over his final two seasons at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. As a senior, his 51 strikeouts ranked second on the team, as he posted a 5-1 record and a 3.64 ERA in relief. During his senior year, the Tigers won their eighth Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title and advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the ninth time.

Other Notes: The Boulders traded left-handed reliever Shawn Gilblair to the New Britain Bees (Atlantic League) for future considerations...Rockland also released OF Ryan Stovall and RHP's Stephen Harrold and Fray Martinez
