Unique Boulders Baseball Experiences and Items in Joint Effort with Active International

(POMONA, NY) – The Rockland Boulders, in conjunction with Active International, will host a season-long, online auction for Boulders Benefits the team’s 501(c)3. Items up for bid will include game used memorabilia and jerseys, along with once-in-a-lifetime experiences like golf with part-owner John Flaherty and a trip to Spring Training in Florida in 2017. All proceeds from the auction will go to the “Boulders ROLL” program, a charitable initiative of the Boulders to raise funds for hundreds of local organizations.

Boulders ROLL is a new community-focused initiative that aims to improve the region the Boulders serve and those who live in it. It is centered on four values: Responsibility, Outreach, Learn, and Life. Fans can learn more about the Boulders ROLL initiative and what types of programs are offered as part of it, including the Boulders Benefits charitable organization by visiting www.RocklandBoulders.com/BouldersROLL.

”We are fortunate to have unique baseball-centric items and experiences that could be called priceless, but through our first ever season-long auction we can monetize and use the proceeds to help our community via grants from Boulders Benefits,” said Ken Lehner, Boulders Team President.  “This is a natural addition to our fundraising efforts, considering the success we have had with our ‘fun-raising ticket programs’ and nightly Rand Realty 50/50 drawings at Palisades Credit Union Park.”

Each Rockland Boulders home game during the 2016 season will include a different item for bid, with the auctions beginning at 8:00 am each game day.  Some experiences will be available for bid longer than others, in order to give fans more chances to bid. All auctions will be done online by visiting www.RocklandBoulders.com/ActiveAuction, and will be promoted during the games at Palisades Credit Union Park.

The first auction will begin on Tuesday, May 3, and is for a chance to step up to the plate and have an actual at-bat in Rockland’s exhibition game against the NYPD’s Finest on Saturday, May 14th.  A complete list of items, and auction dates, will be posted on the Boulders website and promoted through the teams social media pages.

“We’re very excited to be part of the Boulders ROLL initiative.  The Boulders have been proactive in working with non-profits and our community since before their first pitch in 2011,” said Joe Allen, Active International’s Senior Vice President, Community Affairs and Employee Communication.  “Their out of the box thinking regarding fundraising and community activism continues to be inspiring to both donors and service providers.”

Rockland opens up the 2016 season with their fourth annual exhibition game against the NYPD’s Finest. The contest is free for all fans, but tickets are required, and begins at 6:30 pm on Saturday, May 14th with a Fireworks Extravaganza to follow.

The Boulders begin their quest for a third straight pennant on Thursday, May 19th when they host the Sussex County Miners for a 7:00 pm first pitch. It’s the first $1 Beers night of the year, presented by Budweiser, with the first 1,000 fans in attendance receiving a 2016 Magnet Schedule. After the game, stick around for a Fireworks Extravaganza to celebrate the new season!
