Rockland Announces New Amenities, Procedures, and More

(POMONA, NY) – The 2016 season will bring many changes to the Rockland Boulders and their fans. Along with a new ballpark name, this year will also see new procedures and amenities, including foods and team jerseys, at Palisades Credit Union Park.

As announced in April, fans will see the changes immediately upon arriving with the change of the ballpark name. Palisades Credit Union, an institution with a long history of serving Rockland County residents, has taken over the naming rights from Sterling National Bank, giving birth to the newly renamed Palisades Credit Union Park.

“Change is good because the majority of these changes are a direct result of input that we have received from our fans during the 2015 season” said Ken Lehner, Team President.

Along the concourse will be a number of other additions for patrons. New this season are two additional outside food vendors selling their products in Teri-Teri Steakhouse and Austin’s Restaurant & Bar. Teri-Teri will offer select Japanese cuisine from their stand on the first base side of the concourse. Further up the line, Austin’s will sell select items from their typical menu out of the right field concession stand near the BoulderBerg playground.

The Boulders concession stands will also offer new and improved food items during the 2016 campaign. Fans will be able to enjoy new creations such as the “Walk Off Burger” with homemade ketchup and cheddar cheese, as well as Chicken Parmesan and BBQ Chicken Sandwiches. Other new foods include Mac & Cheese cups, Grilled Cheese with homemade Chili, and a Cheesesteak Dog. Select concession stands will also offer healthy food items such as wraps and salads.

Other changes that will be seen in the first moments of a fans experience is a new “No Re-Entry Policy”. Beginning in 2016, fans exiting the ballpark will not be permitted back into the ballpark unless instructed by a member of the Rockland Boulders staff or in the case of extreme emergency. There has also been a change in the smoking policy during Boulders events. Fans will only be allowed to smoke in a designated area, located in the Bridge Bar in left field.

Probably the most noticeable change inside the ballpark will come when the Boulders players take the field as they will don new home jerseys in 2016. The Majestic jerseys, which are the exact some ones that all Major League teams wear, showcase “Boulders” in a bright blue font across the chest, along with red numbers on the lower left side. The back of the jerseys will feature the players name in the same bright blue font and large red numbers, outlined in blue. Another new aspect to the jerseys shows Rockland’s mascot BoulderBird on the left sleeve, ready to take a few swings with the new ballpark name and logo on the right sleeve.

Fans will be able to see all of these new and improved aspects of Boulders baseball on Thursday, May 19th as Rockland begins their quest for a third straight Can-Am League pennant when they host the Sussex County Miners at 7:00pm at Palisades Credit Union Park. A special pre-game ceremony will take place beginning at 6:30pm with gates opening one hour before first pitch. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will get a 2016 Magnet Schedule, while all fans can enjoy a post-game Fireworks Extravaganza, courtesy of Hudson Valley Harley Davidson. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the box office, by calling (845) 364-0009 or by sliding to www.RocklandBoudlers.com
