Rockland to Honor All Members of the Armed Forces with Annual Salute to the Troops

(POMONA, NY) – In what has become an annual tradition, the Rockland Boulders will honor America’s military members on Friday, June 3 on “Military Appreciation Night” when they take on the Quebec Capitales. Gates will open at 6:00 pm at Palisades Credit Union Park with pre-game festivities before a 7:05 pm first pitch.

“Everyone knows someone who has served in the Armed Forces and as a result they know that because of their commitment and sacrifices America truly is 'the land of the free and the home of the brave’”, said Ken Lehner, Team President.  “We can never thank them enough, but we have to try so come join us on Friday night."

As part of the tribute, all Active Duty, Retired, and Disabled servicemen and women will receive complimentary admission to that evening’s contest when they show proper proof of military service at the box office. All veterans will also be able to purchase up to three additional tickets at 50% off. Throughout the day, the Boulders will be accepting donations to send to those currently serving overseas. Fans are asked to bring food items such as oatmeal, beef jerky, or dark chocolate, as well as other amenities like deodorant, toothpaste/toothbrushes, sun block and more.

Everyone is encouraged to arrive early as the first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative Boulders camo cap, courtesy of the U.S. Army’s Nanuet Recruiting Office. Pre-Game festivities include a motorcycle ride-around on the field from Hudson Valley Harley Davidson, as well as honoring local military personnel on the field.

Throughout the game, patrons can also show their support by taking part in Budweiser’s “Honor a Hero” campaign by writing the name of a veteran on a napkin or coaster, taking a picture of it (or the veteran themselves) and sharing it via their website. For each picture shared, Budweiser will donate $1 to “Folds of Honor” and put those photos up in Times Square on Veteran’s Day 2016. Fans who also share these photos with the Boulders on social media on June 3 will see those photos on the Jumbotron during the 7th Inning Stretch.

Be sure to stick around after the game as well to witness a Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by Hudson Valley Harley Davidson. There is also a “PEAK Post-Game Party”, featuring the band SwhizZ after the Fireworks. Fans can still purchase tickets by visiting the box office during normal business hours, calling (845) 364-0009 or by clicking here.
