ROCKLAND JUST SHORT OF WIN AGAINST QUÈBEC

(POMONA, N.Y.) – The Boulders came up just short of winning their third game against Quebèc on Saturday night at Palisades Credit Union Park, losing by only one.

Martin started off the game in the right direction for the Boulders and went one, two, three, in the top of the first inning, however Quebèc quickly followed allowing no runs to be scored by the Boulders resulting in a scoreless first inning.

The game continued to remain scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when a pick off attempt from Martian failed and the throw got away from Schlehuber resulting in Lennerton scoring from third, putting Quebèc on the board.

Martin shut down Quebèc's bases loaded in the fourth inning with the help from Riley Palmer who dove for a shallow ground ball in right field resulting in a great catch to end the inning without giving the Capitales a chance to score.

The Boulders started to fall behind in the top of the fifth as Quèbec extended their lead to 2-0 with bases loaded for a second consecutive inning, Knecht grounds into 6-4-3 DP allowing Ehrlich to score for Quèbec.

Mike Montville lead off the fifth inning crushing a ball into deep right field for a double, however in an attempt to advance him to third Parache hit the ball to the first basemen who tossed it over to tag Montville, and their upper hand on the inning slipped away.

The game finally started to come together for the Boulders as McDonald hit his third homer of the series, a solo shot deep into right field, putting the Boulders on the board in the bottom of the sixth only trailing by one, however this was followed by three scoreless innings and the Boulders fell to the Capitales 2-1. The Boulders and the Capitales are both 9-7 this young season.
