The Rockland Boulders were throttled by the Jackals at Yogi Berra Stadium on Friday night, losing 10-0.

LITTLE FALLS, NJ- The Jackals (15-7), who boast the Can-Am league’s best offense, scoring each of the first four innings, chasing Boulders starter Jarret Martin (0-2) after only three innings. Martin gave up eight runs in his three innings, off of only seven hits. Art Charles went 2-4 with two home runs and six RBI to lead New Jersey offensively.

                Alex Gouin came in and stabilized the situation once again from the long relief spot, giving up only two earned runs in five innings pitched. However, it was too late for the Boulders offense to muster up a rally to pull themselves back in the game.

                Rockland (13-8) didn’t fare much better on the offensive side of the ball, getting shut out and mustering only four total hits. Jackals starter Brian Ernst (4-1) threw seven shutout innings, striking out seven Boulders, en route to earning his league-leading fourth win.

The only Boulders were hits were Junior Arrojo, Mike Fransoso, Marcus Nidiffer, and Brenden Webb, who recorded his first career hit with the red, white and blue in his third game with the squad.

                The ten run loss was the most lopsided of the season for the Boulders, who had their four game winning streak snapped. The game also marked the return of Boulders outfielder Mike Schwartz, who returned after a stint from the disabled list. Schwartz went 0-3 from the DH spot, striking out once.

                The battle for Can-Am supremacy continues tomorrow in New Jersey, when the Boulders and the Jackals square off in the third game of their four game set, with the first pitch scheduled for 6
