Boulders Dominate Jackals with 6-2 Victory

BOULDERS BOUNCE BACK TO WIN THIRD GAME OF 4-GAME SERIES AGAINST JACKALS

(LITTLE FALLS, N.J.) – Jared McDonald helped lead the Rockland Boulders to victory against the New Jersey Jackals by going three for four and hitting 2 RBI's.

Rockland Boulders (14-8) quickly took the lead when a wild pitch from Matt Loosen allowed Jared McDonald to score from third with bases loaded and 2 outs, putting Rockland on the scoreboard.

McDonald continued to carry the Boulders hitting a two out RBI single in the bottom of the second inning which brought home Alex DeBellis from second, advancing the Boulders lead to 2-0.

Solbach pitched a perfect 1-2-3 inning in the second, ensuring that no runs were scored by the Jackals, keeping the Boulders 2-0 advantage safe. Solbach continued to have a solid performance by working out of jams through seven innings. 

The New Jersey Jackals (15-8) began to close up the gap when an RBI sacrifice fly from Rylan Sandoval allowed Michael O'Neill to score, shaving the Boulders lead to just half, but shortly after that McDonald slammed a solo shot deep into right field for his fifth home run of the year in the top of the fifth to advanced the Boulders lead to 3-1. 

Jared Schlehuber hit his 18th RBI of the season which was a sacrifice fly to allow Arrojo to score in the fifth to increase their lead to 4-1 over the Jackals.

Richard Stock hit a homer for the Jackals in the bottom of the sixth and Rockland struggled to hold onto their lead, which was cut in half again to 4-2. DeDellis came to the rescue for the Boulders and ended the inning by tagging Richardson out as he attempted to steal home plate.

A wild seventh inning allowed the Rockland Boulders to extend their lead 6-2 by scoring two runs on four Jackal errors. Mike Fransoso scored from first base after stealing three bases on two errors from the Jackals catcher and center fielder,  Junior Arrojo stole second, advanced to third on an error, and was also able to score for the Boulders. 

The Boulders look to win their final game of the four game series against the New Jersey Jackals on Sunday, June 12th at 2 p.m. at Yogi Berra Stadium.
