(POMONA, NY) – In celebration of the historic visit of the Cuban National Team, the Rockland Boulders announced today that former major league pitcher Luis “El Tiante” Tiant will throw out the first pitch before the Cuba-Boulders 2:00pm game on Sunday, June 26th at Palisades Credit Union Park. A special meet-and-greet ticket package has been created for fans to meet the legendary pitcher.
Large crowds are expected at ALL three games and fans are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to ensure they don't miss any of the action!
“The world is coming to Palisades Credit Union Park this weekend,” said Shawn Reilly, General Manager and Executive Vice President. “With the Cuban team, El Duque Hernandez and Nik Wallenda; Luis Tiant is the perfect addition to amazing line-up!”
Tiant, who pitched for the Indians, Twins, Red Sox, Yankees, Pirates and Angels during 19 major league seasons, is one of 10 finalists on this year's Golden Era ballot that will be considered by the committee on managers, umpires, executives and long-retired players at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Fans will have the opportunity to meet “El Tiante” in a private meet and greet.
The exclusive package includes a ticket to the 2:00pm game, a photo opportunity with the former Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox ace, and member of the 1975 American League Championship team, and two (2) wieners as an ode to his famous 1978 commercial as a member of the New York Yankees, for only $35 (taxes and fees not included). As a special bonus, all patrons who purchase the package will also receive a personalized autographed picture with Tiant. Fans can purchase their “Meet & Greet” Package by calling (845) 364-0009 or visiting the Palisades Credit Union Park Box Office. Those who already have tickets to the June 26th contest, but would still like to meet the three-time All-Star, should visit the box office for a $25 package.
This special opportunity concludes a weekend full of exciting offers for fans, including the chance to see Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez throw out the first pitch before the start of the game on June 24th, and a death-defying skywalk more than 125 feet above the field from world-renowned aerialist, Nik Wallenda, on June 25th.
