(AUGUST, NJ) – Leading 6-0 in the top of the third, the Rockland Boulders saw their game against the Sussex County Miners get put on hold due to severe weather Tuesday night at Skylands Stadium. As a result, the game will be resumed on Wednesday, June 29th beginning at 5:00pm and played through the full nine innings. Roughly thirty minutes after the completion of game one, a separate seven-inning game will begin.
The Boulders looked to end their season-long five-game losing streak early, scoring four runs in the top of the first. Jared Schlehuder grounded out with the bases loaded to plate Jared McDonald before three consecutive RBI hits from Pat McKenna, Mike Fransoso, and Mike Montville plated the other three runners.
They then added to that lead in the second when a pair of past balls from Sussex County’s Matt Bywater allowed McDonald and Junior Arrojo to score, making it a 6-0 lead. Meanwhile, Rockland’s starting pitcher David Fischer retired the only six batters he faced before the rains game.
When the game resumes on Wednesday, it will be in the top of the third with Fransoso standing on second, Aaron Wilson on first, and one out with a 2-2 count to Jared McDonald.
