POMONA, NY- Junior Arrojo struck a two out double in the bottom of the ninth, handing the Boulders the win against Trois-Rivieres in walk-off fashion, 4-3 at Palisades Credit Union Park.  
    The Boulders (25-17) took the lead early in the bottom of the first. Junior Arrojo laced a one-out single and advanced to second on an error by the centerfielder. After moving to third on a stolen base, Arrojo came in on a sac-fly by Mike Fransoso. However, that would be all the scoring Rockland could muster until the ninth inning. 
    In the bottom of the ninth, the Boulders loaded up the bases while trailing by two runs with one out. Elvin Soto came up to the plate, and grounded to first base, but an error caused a run to cross and everyone to be safe. After a fielder’s choice, the Boulders were down to their final out before Arrojo clubbed the game-winning walk-off double over the centerfielders head to seal the deal for Rockland. Arrojo finished the game 3-5, with a run scored and two RBI. 
     Rockland sent out David Fischer with the starting duties, as they tried to win their second straight series. He started out strong, only allowing one run through six innings, while also recording four strikeouts. However, in the seventh, he lost his control. Trois-Rivieres plated two runs in the inning, both charged to Fischer, after he walked a batter, and hit two others. The Eagles’ offense was led by Zak Colby, who finished 3-5 with an RBI.  
    Daniel Carela and Edgar Valle (3-0) came on in relief in the seventh and ninth innings respectively and shut down the Eagles’ offense. Valle earned the win after tossing a shutout ninth, allowing only one hit. 
    Trois-Rivieres (10-31) countered with Mathew Rusch, a starter that also happens to be the team’s pitching coach. Rusch stifled the Boudlers’ offense, allowing only one unearned run across, while striking out four and only walking out one. Kaohi Downing relieved in the ninth after a shutout eighth by fellow reliever Scott Kusminky, but was unable to close out the game. He allowed three runs, all unearned, in .2 innings pitched. 
    The win extended the Boulders win streak to four games, while causing Trois-Rivieres to drop their fifth game in a row. It is also the sixth consecutive game Rockland has taken from the Eagles to start the 2016 season. 
    The fourth and final game of the series will be played tomorrow at Palisades Credit Union Park with the first pitch scheduled for 5:30 PM. A fireworks extravaganza will commence upon the completion of the game, and tickets are still available.
