BOULDERS FALL TO QUEBEC 5-4

(QUEBEC CITY, QC)– Despite home runs from Schlehuber and Arrojo, the Boulders were defeated by Quebec (5-4) in their third game of the four game series on Saturday night.

The Boulders fought back hard in the second inning after Quebec took an early 2-0 lead. Jared Schlehuber belted a solo shot homer for the Boulders, his 6th home run of the season, to shave Quebec's lead to just half.

Marcus Knecht hit Quebec’s second 2-run homer of the game in the bottom of the fourth to extend Quebec’s lead to 4-1. The Boulders followed this in the top of the fifth when Junior Arrojo slammed a 2-run homer to close the gap to 4-3. This is Arrojo’s 7th home run of the season.

Josh Wong hit a homerun for Quebec in the sixth making it 5-3.

Daniel Carela came in on relief for Richard Salazar in the bottom of the seventh after Salazar struck out four batters in a total of seven innings.

The Boulders threatened in the ninth when Mike Montville crushed a triple into deep right center field. An RBI single from Mike Fransoso then allowed Montville to score for the Boulders to make it 5-4.

The game ended when Arrojo was caught off third base and tagged out in a run down to end the Boulders attempt at a comeback.

The Boulders will have their final game of the four-game series against Les Capitales Sunday, August 7th at 1 p.m., before returning to Palisades Credit Union Park on Monday, August 8th to start a 4 game series against Trois-Rivieres.
