CAPITALES POWER PAST BOULDERS IN EXTRA INNINGS

(POMONA, NY)– Pink flooded Palisades Credit Union Park on Saturday night, as fans came out to the Rockland Boulders game, “Pink in the Park” event to show their support in the fight against breast cancer while watching a great night of baseball.

The Boulders got off to a fast start in the first inning when Mike Fransoso scored on an RBI single from Marcus Nidiffer to give them a 1-0 lead. Quickly after this Devin Harris slammed a 380 ft 3-run homer into deep left center field to extend the Boulders lead to a huge 4-0.

Starting pitcher Jason Byers allowed the first Quebec runner on base in the 3rd, after retiring the first 7 batters in a row.

A putout sacrifice fly from Kalian Sams scored Yeicok Calderon from third to put Quebec on the board in the fourth to make the score 4-1. Quebec then cut Rocklands lead in half 4-2, in the fifth, when Adam Ehrlich scored on an RBI double from Roel Santos.

The Boulders answered this with an RBI double from Jared Schlehuber to score Leandro Castro in the sixth making it 5-2.

Quebec came right back with another RBI double from Ehrlich to score Maxx Tissenbaum making it 5-3. Then Ehrlich was able to tack on another run for Quebec to trail the Boulders by just 1 in the seventh.

Tied at 5-5 in the ninth brought us to extra innings and Quebec was able to capitalize in the 10th winning 7-5.
