POMONA, NY- Brett Palanski was dominant en route to earning his first win with the Boulders, and Jared Schlehuber hit two home runs, as Rockland toppled Quebec, 12-5. 
    Brett Palanski (1-1) started out lights out, facing the minimum through three innings, without allowing a single hit. Then in the bottom of the third inning, there was a 54-minute long rain delay. Ordinarily pitchers would be thrown off of their groove taking an hour off, but Palanski had no issues, coming back to pitch three more innings, while only giving up two earned runs, both from a two-run homerun by Yeicok Calderon in the fourth. 
Palanski finished with a great line of six innings pitched, two earned runs, with only two hits allowed, and one strikeout. Quebec (45-33) couldn’t by a run, with Calderon fairing best, going 1-4 with the home run. Matt Kostalos came in for the seventh and eighth innings, as well as the ninth inning. However, he couldn’t escape unscathed, getting tagged for two unearned runs, before giving way to Pat Butler with two outs. Butler would allow a run of his own before slamming the door with the bases loaded. 
    On the offensive side, Rockland (41-37) dominated from the second inning on, tagging starting pitcher Mac Acker (5-6). Pat McKenna capped off a three run inning with a two-run single to give the Boulders a lead that they would never cede. After plating another run in the third, McKenna would add a solo shot to leadoff the bottom of the fourth to draw the score up to 5-2. 
    Despite already having a comfortable lead, Jared Schlehuber decided to get in on the drubbing, adding a two-out home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to stretch the lead to four. After scoring a run in the seventh on an error, Schlehuber extended the lead even further with his second home run of the game in the eighth. He finished the game 2-3 with two homers, four runs scored, two walks, and three RBI. 
    The Boulders 19 hits were just two shy of the Boulders single game franchise record, which was set in 2012 against Quebec. Jared Schlehuber became only the eighth Boulder in team history to hit two home runs in one game. Every single player in the starting lineup recorded a hit, with Soto leading the way, going 4-5, with a run scored and two RBI. With the win, Rockland sits 11.5 games ahead of fifth place Sussex County for the final playoff spot. 
    Rockland will now head out on the road to Trois-Rivieres, with the first pitch of the doubleheader on Monday night scheduled for 5 P.M.
