An oft-used utility infielder for the Boulders during the 2015 season, Giuseppe Papaccio left the team after only suiting up for one year.
So where did Papaccio go after his time in Pomona ran up? He went to pursue his second career, as an assistant baseball coach with the Jaspers of Manhattan University. Papaccio began working with the college after the 2015 Can-Am playoffs ended in September. On top of his responsibilities at Manhattan, the Nutley native also works at Lefty’s Sports Academy in Clifton, NJ.  There he works as a fielding, hitting and throwing instructor for kids.
Papaccio was a four year standout at Seton Hall University, after being raised in Nutley, New Jersey. He was a three time All Big East selection, as well as a Louisville Slugger All-American selection during his senior season. Those solid performances warranted an 18th round selection in the 2013 draft by the Chicago Cubs on Papaccio’s 22nd birthday.
He lasted two seasons in the Cubs organization, rocketing up from rookie level to AA as his highest level reached. During those two seasons, which spanned five levels, Papaccio hit .235/.303/.298. His best performances came in Kane County in Single-A, when he hit .279 in limited action, as well as hitting two home runs.
As a utility man, Papaccio didn’t always find consistent paying time, but did find his way into 88 games for the Boulders in 2015, his age 24 season. He split is time between second base, shortstop and third base. His play there was solid, albeit unspectacular. His triple slash line in 2015 was .243/.279/.338, recording 77 hits. A remarkable 22 of those hits went for doubles, as he flashed serious gap power from the right side. Those numbers were all career bests, while also posting bests in runs scored (38) and runs batted in (34).
