Boulders Sign RHP Marcel Prado

On Wednesday, the Rockland Boulders announced the signing of veteran pitcher Marcel Prado. A 6’4” righty, Prado enters his first season with the Boulders in 2017, but his 11th overall year in professional baseball.  

Prado made his professional debut in 2006 with the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise, pitching in the Dominican Summer League. In 2008 he joined the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League.

After a couple years playing in the Independent leagues, he joined the Baltimore Orioles organization in 2013. Over the course of three years, he pitched with the Double-A Bowie Baysox. Over the course of his best season, 2014, Prado earned a 7-3 record, including four saves in 49 relief appearances.

His last season of professional baseball came in 2015, pitching to a 3-1 record. Pradro ended the season with one save, and 29 appearances for Bowie.

Prado and the rest of the Boulders will begin their seventh season on Thursday, May 18th when they host the Sussex County Miners at 7:00pm at Palisades Credit Union Park. Season Ticket Memberships are currently on-sale and can be purchased by visiting the box office or calling (845) 364-0009.
