The Rockland Boulders have officially signed catcher Alex Herceg to a contract for the 2017 season. A bullpen catcher on last year's squad, Herceg enters his first full year with the Boulders, and his first in professional baseball.

A 2016 graduate of Keystone College in Pennsylvania, Herceg won four straight conference championships, reaching the Division III College World Series last year. He hit .305 his senior season after posting a .354 average with 35 runs batted in during the 2015 campaign.

Those numbers earned him an All-Region award, as well as First Team All-Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) honors in leading the Giants to the title batting .625 with eight RBI and five extra-base hits in the tournament.
