Rockland Unveils Newest and Biggest Attraction in Minor League Baseball

(POMONA, NY) – As part of their continued effort to provide the most exciting, family-friendly entertainment in the Lower Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey, the Rockland Boulders have announced that a nine-hole mini-golf course, known as “BoulderBirdies” will be built at Palisades Credit Union Park for the 2017 season.

“Palisades Credit Union Park is a sports and entertainment destination,” said Ken Lehner, Team President.  “Homeruns are fun, but holes-in-one are fun as well and now we have both.”

The course will be situated in the right field picnic deck area, only adding to the bevy of attractions in that portion of the ballpark. With the Westchester Medical Center Kids Zone, batting cage, and an ice cream stand, BoulderBirdies makes right field the premier destination at all Boulders games. Each par-three hole will be themed to honor other staples of Rockland Boulders baseball including: the Roll Boulders Roll (1st), the Craft Beer Hole (2nd), the Pancake Hole (3rd), the Bud Light Bridge Bar Hole (4th), the B-Train Hole (5th), BoulderBird’s Hole (6th), the 7th Inning Stretch Hole (7th), the Rockland Bakery Bake-Off Race Hole (8th), and the Signature Hole (9th). Each hole will be a par three, but will include obstacles, twists, and turns, to make the experience just that much more exciting for all participants.

A special VIP outing will take place during the preseason for both Rockland Boulders corporate partners and 2017 Season Ticket Members to experience this new attraction, while all fans can take their first putts on the course on Saturday, May 13th during Rockland’s 5th annual craft beer festival and exhibition game with the NYPD. The course will be open during every home game for the general public at just $3 per round per person, but if you play with a friend the cost drops to $2.50 per round per person. Those who book birthday parties can add an exclusive round of mini-golf for an additional cost.

”It’s the perfect spot at Palisades Credit Union Park for a mini-golf course,” chimed in Shawn Reilly, EVP and General Manager.  “The majority of the holes face the field so you can play golf, while the Boulders play baseball.  It’s the best double-play combination in professional baseball since Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano were turning two at Yankee Stadium.”

If you can’t book a party during a Boulders home game, “BoulderBirdies” mini-golf parties are available for booking, complete with food beverages and a cake from Rockland Bakery on all other days, beginning May 15th. In addition, the Boulders are working on creating an adult mini-golf league to take place on Wednesday nights during the summer to coincide with the Boulders ever popular adult kickball league, as well as a charity tournament featuring Boulders players and coaches. Season Ticket Members for 2017 will also receive a limited number of free golf vouchers, good for use during any 2017 home game.

For more information on what is sure to be the most exciting aspect of Boulders Baseball, other than the play on the field, or to book a party featuring BoulderBirdies mini-golf, call (845) 364-0009 to speak with one of our experienced sales representatives. Don’t forget to secure your seats for the 2017 season either as Rockland will host the Sussex County Miners on Thursday, May 18th at 7:00pm at Palisades Credit Union Park for a #BouldOpening Day.
