Venezuelan native calls Rockland home for a 2nd season

On Saturday, the Rockland Boulders announced the signing of pitcher Liarvis Breto.  A 5’11” lefty from Carabobo, Venezuela, Breto enters his second season with the Boulders in 2017, and his 6th overall year in professional baseball.  

Breto, 23, made his professional debut in 2012 in the Venezuelan Summer League with the Seattle Mariners affiliate.  He appeared in 62 games during his 4 years in the league, going 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA while walking 66 and striking out 172.

Last season with the Boulders, Breto appeared in 9 games, with a 0-1 record, pitching 14.1 innings and striking out 13 of the 70 batters he faced.

Breto and the rest of the Boulders will begin their seventh season with a #BouldOpening on Thursday, May 18th when they host the Sussex County Miners at 7:00pm at Palisades Credit Union Park.
