Rockland Signs Mayckol Guaipe

The Rockland Boulders announced today the signing of former Major League right handed pitcher Mayckol Guaipe.

Guaipe, 26, played in the big leagues for the Seattle Mariners in 2015-16, making his MLB debut on June 1st, 2015 at Safeco Field in relief of Felix Hernandez, where he retired all seven batters he faced, and struck out two.  Over the past two seasons, the right hander appeared in 26 games, with a career 0-3 record and a 5.29 ERA.  During the 2016 season, Guaipe appeared in five games, pitching 7.1 innings, and giving up eight hits while only walking four.  The Venezuelan native was originally signed as an amateur free agent in October of 2006 by the Mariners, before being released after the 2016 season.  Earlier this year, Guaipe signed with the Chicago White Sox, but was released a week before Opening Day.

Guaipe and the rest of the Boulders will begin their seventh season with a #BouldOpening on Thursday, May 18th when they host the Sussex County Miners at 7:00pm at Palisades Credit Union Park. Season Ticket Memberships and numerous other ticket packages are currently on-sale and can be purchased by visiting the box office or calling (845) 364-0009.  For more information, slide to Rocklandboulders.com.
