Boulders sign former Cincinnati Reds prospect

The Rockland Boulders announced today the signing of left-handed pitcher Michael Sullivan.

Sullivan, 23, was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds, in the 29th round of the 2014 MLB June Amateur draft.  Over the past 3 seasons, the 6 foot 210lb left-hander has compiled a 3-7 record, with a 4.58 ERA.  Sullivan’s best season professionally came during the 2015 season, while playing for the Single A Dayton Dragons of the Midwest League, where he went 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA.

A native of Staten Island New York, Sullivan played college baseball at the nationally-ranked DIII NJCAA’s Gloucester County College in Sewell, NJ, where he went a total of 16-0 during his freshman and sophomore seasons, while posting a 0.83 ERA.  While playing baseball at Tottenville High School, Sullivan was named the Muche-Ohalek Award winner as the Staten Island player who best combined playing ability, citizenship and sportsmanship.

Sullivan and the rest of the 2017 Boulders will begin their seventh season with a #BouldOpening on Thursday, May 18th when they host the Sussex County Miners at 7:00pm at Palisades Credit Union Park.
