Tice, Guaipe, and the Boulders Sweep Weekly CanAm League Awards

The CanAm League announced today that second basemen Dylan Tice has been named the CanAm Player of the Week, pitcher Myckol Guaipe was named the CanAm Pitcher of the Week, and that the Rockland Boulders have been named the CanAm Team of the Week, all sponsored by Pointstreak.

The Boulders won the CanAm weekly awards after sweeping the Sussex County Miners and starting the season 5-0 for the first time in franchise history.  The team leads the league in home runs (8), hits (51), runs (41), triples (2), walks (16), and total bases (93).

Tice, in his first year with the Boulders, is currently batting .521 with one home run and six RBI and leads the league in doubles with three.  The Perkasie, PA native and West Chester University alum was originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 36th round of the 2015 amateur draft and spent part of the 2016 season with the single A affiliate State College Spikes of the New York Penn League, as well as the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Gulf Coast League.

Guaipe receives the honors as the CanAm Pitcher of the Week, after facing eight batters, and striking out seven.  The former Seattle Mariners pitcher is currently 1-0 with the Boulders and has one save, in three appearances.

Tice, Guaipe, and the rest of the Boulders will return home on Friday, May 26th when they host the Quebec Capitales at 7:00pm at Palisades Credit Union Park. Season Ticket Memberships and numerous other ticket packages are currently on-sale and can be purchased by visiting the box office or calling (845) 364-0009.  For more information, slide to Rocklandboulders.com
