Looking to continue their tremendous start to season, the Boulders traveled to Trois-Rivieres to begin a three game series with the Aigles. Richard Salazar took the ball for the Boulders and Matthew Rusch took the hill for the Aigles on a beautiful and clear Tuesday night.

The Boulders took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning when Dylan Tice was hit by a pitch and the next batter, Mike Fransoso, hit a homerun.  While the Boulders came out of the gates firing, the Aigles struggled to get anything going as they only managed one hit and two walks through the first three innings.   

    The game would remain a 2-0 score in favor of the Boulders until the bottom of the 4th. With one out Connor Crane was hit by a pitch from Richard Salazar. The next batter, Alexander Ayala singled with Crane advancing to third. After Ayala stole second base putting runners on second and third Trevor Gretzky came up. He hit a grounder to the Boulders second baseman Dylan Tice and beat out the throw for an infield single, scoring Crane and Ayala to tie up the game at 2-2.       

    In the bottom of the 5th the Aigles threatened to take the lead when Ryan Brockett singled to start the inning. After advancing to second on a wild pitch from Salazar the Aigles centerfielder Brendan Webb walked to put runners on first and second with no outs. Keeping his composure in check Salazar was able to get third baseman Daniel Mateo to ground the ball back to him. Salazar threw to third to get the lead runner and James Roberts then threw to first to get Mateo completing the 1-5-3 double play.

To lead off the 6th inning, Joe Maloney hit a long home run over the right center field wall putting the Boulders back on top 3-2. They would not relinquish this lead as Alex Farina and Matt Kostalos combined to pitch a scoreless 7th and 8th. Mayckol Guaipe then came in the 9th inning to close it out and give the Boulders their sixth straight win to start the season.  Richard Salazar improved to 2-0 on the season after pitching six innings, giving up two runs on four hits, and striking out seven.   

The Boulders will look to continue their winning ways in the second game of this three game series Wednesday night with first pitch scheduled at 7:05 at the Aigles’ home ballpark Stade Fernand-Bedard.
