Tonight, the Boulders extended their season record to 16 wins by winning both double-header games against the Ottawa Champions.

The Boulders got off to a slow start, not scoring a run until the sixth inning by second baseman Dylan Tice’s RBI. The very next play Mike Fransoso hit a solo home run to give the Boulders a 2-1 lead.

The Boulder’s starting pitcher Bo Budkevics pitched a solid game while only walking one batter and giving up one run through 6 innings.

Relief pitched Alex Farina took over for Budkevics in the bottom of the seventh with 10 of his 18 pitches being strikes.

Jared McDonald would come up clutch, hitting a single that would bring in the game-tying run by Left Fielder Jon Smith.

The Boulders would bring in reliever Matt Kostalos in the bottom of the eighth inning. Although the bases were loaded, Kostalos managed to get the third and final out by forcing a fielder’s choice on Ottawa’s Gustavo Pierre.

This win ended the Boulders road trip, and they will start a two game home stand  against the New Jersey Jackals tonight at 7:05pm
