Fourth Boulder Pitcher in a Row to Receive Honors

The Rockland Boulders and the CanAm League announced today that right-handed pitcher Markus Solbach has been named the CanAm League’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week.  This marks the fourth Boulders pitcher in a row to be named Pitcher of the Week.

Solbach, a native of Pulheim Germany, has had a solid start to the season going 4-0.  This week alone, Solbach went 2-0 against the New Jersey Jackals and Ottawa Champions, pitching a total of fourteen innings, and giving up a total of two earned runs on eight hits, while striking out eight.  His four wins on the season leads the entire CanAm League for most wins this season.   2017 marks Solbach’s second season with Rockland, as he was 6-2 with a 2.43 ERA in 10 starts last season, striking out 52 in 74 innings.  Prior to coming to independent baseball, Solbach pitched in the Minnesota Twins and Arizona Diamondbacks system from 2011 to 2016. He reached as high as the Class A Advanced Visalia (Calif.) Rawhide, where he appeared in six games last season.

Solbach and the rest of the Boulders will return home on Wednesday, June 14th when they host the Sussex County Miners at 10:30 am at Palisades Credit Union Park. Season Ticket Memberships and numerous other ticket packages are currently on-sale and can be purchased by visiting the box office or calling (845) 364-0009.  For more information, slide to Rocklandboulders.com
