The Rockland Boulders defeated the Trois-Rivieres Aigles by a score of 7-5 Friday night. Rockland starter Chris Carmain (3-1) took the win with a five run, five inning starting performance. Jeremy Kehrt started for the Aigles and also pitched five innings, giving up five runs. Ryan Leach (0-2) took the loss, however.

Rockland started the scoring with a strong four-run second inning. Mike Montville was the first to get on base with a single. Mike Fransoso singled and then Montville stole home to give the Boulders their first run of the game. Alex Herceg singled, Jared McDonald doubled, and Dylan Tice doubled to give the Boulders a 4-0 lead.

The Aigles struck back in the third inning. Ryan Brockett singled and Julio Martinez doubled to put two runners in scoring position. Daniel Mateo then hit a three-run home run to make the score 4-3.

In the fourth inning, Aaron Wilson singled and came home to score on a single by Tice. However, Trois-Rivieres tied the game in the bottom of the inning. Alexander Ayala reached base on a fielder’s choice and moved to second on a walk to Kyle Lafrenz.  A single by Gretzky would load the bases, and would have Lafrenz score the tying run on an out by Ryan Brockett.

The Boulders broke the tie in the sixth inning starting with a lead off walk to Alex Herceg followed by a Jared McDonald single. Tice walked to load the bases and another walk to Cody Regis brought home a run. Another run scored on a sac fly by Joe Maloney to give the Boulders a 7-5 lead, which would be the final score.
