Injuries early in the game looked to damper the Boulder’s chances of winning against the second place Quebec Capitales, but reserve Aaron Wilson’s seven RBIs helped the Boulders to win 13-8.  Chris Carmain (4-2) earned the win after pitching five innings of six run baseball.  Quebec’s starter Joseph Maher gave up six runs in four innings but it was Tyler Gillies (0-1) who took the loss.

The first scoring of the game was a two-run home run for the Capitales by Jordan Lennerton with Maxx Tissenbaum on base.  Cody Regis matched that with a two-run shot of his own to score Jared McDonald along with himself in the bottom of the inning.

However, Quebec went ahead again starting with a single by Adam Ehrlich. Daniel Rockett doubled and Philippe Craig-St-Louis brought them both home with a single. The third run of the inning scored on a double by Maxx Tissenbaum.

After Kalian Sams singled and stole second in the fourth inning, Lennerton drove in another run with a single to give Quebec a 6-2 lead.

The Boulders offense churned out four runs in the bottom of the inning.  With Joe Maloney and Wilson on base, Mikael Mogues, who filled in for the injured Jon Smith and Mike Fransoso, crushed a three-run bomb to bring Rockland within one.  Daniel Arribas then went back-to-back with a homer of his own to tie the game.

In the fifth, Wilson homered off of reliever Tyler Gillies to drive in Regis and Maloney giving the Boulders their first lead of the game at 9-6.  The Capitales got a run back in the sixth with Tommy Lawrence pitching via an RBI double by Yurisbel Gracial to score Lennerton.

Quebec continued to cut into the deficit in the seventh inning with Michael O’Neal on the mound.  Ehrlich led off with a single and Rockett was hit by a pitch. St-Louis sacrifice bunted the runners over and James McOwen’s groundout brought home Ehrlich.

Maloney responded by leading off the bottom of the inning with a single off of Jaspreet Shergill for the Boulders.  Ehrlich tried to catch him stealing second but a bad throw sent the ball into the outfield allowing Maloney to move to third.  Wilson earned his fourth RBI with a sac fly to right field.

Rockland loaded the bases in the eighth for the hot hitting Wilson who responded with a bases clearing triple to break the game wide open.  In the ninth, Lennerton doubled to drive in McOwen giving the Capitales another run in the ninth but it was not nearly enough as Jon Velasquez closed the game out.

The Boulders moved to 36-16 extending their league lead to four games over the 32-19 Capitales.
