The Boulders entered tonight’s meeting with the Aigles a half-game up on Quebec atop the Can-Am League. They would remain at the top thanks to a 4.5-inning 1-0 victory.

In the first, Carter McEachern and Javier Herrera singled to put Rockland in a hole, but a 6-4-3 double play would keep Trois-Rivieres off the board.

Starters Justin Topa and Edilson Alvarez went to work in the second. Doubles from Connor Crane and Daniel Arribas were the only hits of the inning. Both teams went down one-two-three in the third.

Dylan Tice singled to begin the fourth and stole his 27th base of the year to get in scoring position. He would be driven in shortly after on a Jared McDonald double to right to break the ice.

Crane reached base again in the fifth on a single for the Aigles, however Topa mowed down the next three to retire the side and end the rainy night.

The Boulders will resume action tomorrow at Palisades Credit Union Park for the third game of the series. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
