The Boulders entered Sunday’s game with 2 straight wins against Trois Rivieres and were looking for number 3 as well.  Unfortunately the Aigles put the thought of a win to bed by salvaging the finale with an 8-5 victory. The loss drops the Boulders lead over Quebec Capitales in the Can Am League standings to a slim .5 game.

Bo Budkevics was handed the loss on Sunday night by giving up 7 earned runs through 5 innings pitched on 8 hits, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Budkevics ERA rose to 5.35 on the season. The win went to Matthew Rusch who pitched 6 innings, allowed 2 runs and struck out 1. Most of the  damage came of the bat of Daniel Mateo who homered twice and drove in 5 of the 8 Aigles runs.

In the bottom of the 6th Joe Moloney drove in 2 runs by launching his league leading 27th Home Run of the Season. In the top of the 7th, the Aigles tacked on a run with a sac fly by Javier Herrera. A pair of RBI singles by Aaron Wilson and Dylan Tice in the bottom half were the final runs the Boulders would score. The loss brings the Boulders record to 52-27 on the season.

The Boulders will start a home and home series with the New Jersey Jackals tomorrow night, before returning home to Palisades Credit Union Park on Tuesday Night at 6:30 PM.
