Rockland’s offense set the tone for the game in the top of the first. Mike Fransoso led off with a walk and Dylan Tice followed him up with a single. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch during Joe Maloney’s at-bat. Marcus Nidfiffer later singled to drive in the first run. Mike Montville’s double brought home the second runner in the next at-bat. Daniel Arribas would later walk to load the bases and Aaron Wilson cleared them with a double to give the team a 5-0 lead.

The Boulders loaded the bases again in the third inning after a Jared McDonald walk and Wilson and Alex Herceg each walked. Fransoso’s sac fly added an insurance run.

New Jersey earned their first runs of the game in the bottom of the inning after Brian Burgamy doubled home Johnny Bladel and Rylan Sandoval. However, these would be both the first and last runs for the Jackals as Chris Carmain and company shut them down for the rest of the game.

Carmain’s (6-3) six-inning, two run performance gave him the win while (5-5) Andres Caceres took the loss after giving up six runs in five innings in his start. The Boulders return home to continue their series with the Jackals tomorrow at 6:30.
