Markus Solabch gave up just one run in eight innings of pitching to lead the Boulders to a 4-1 victory over the Jackals in the last game of their series. Solbach (9-3) earned the win while New Jersey starter Isaac Pavlik (10-3) took the loss after surrendering four runs in his six innings of work.

Marcus Nidiffer got the Boulders their first run of the game with a lead off solo home run in the second inning. Mike Montville walked as the next batter and stole second base to get into scoring position. A single by Daniel Arribas moved the runner to third and a sac fly by Mikael Mogues made the score 2-0.

In the next inning, Joe Maloney extended his league lead of home runs with a solo shot of his own. The Jackals finally managed to manufacture a run after Brian Burgamy and Joe Dunigan singled. Burgamy moved to third on a 6-4-3 double play and came home to score on a wild pitch.

However, the Boulders got that run back with yet another Maloney home run in the sixth giving him 29 on the season. Jon Velasquez came on for Solbach in the ninth to record the save. Next up for the Boulders will be a series at the Trois-Rivieres Aigles starting tomorrow.
