Boulders Receive Four More Honors

The Rockland Boulders and the CanAm League announced today that a number of the Boulders have won post season awards.

 

DYLAN TICE- All-Star Second Baseman

JOE MALONEY- All-Star Outfielder

MIKE FRANSOSO- League Defensive Player of the Year

MIKE MONTVILLE- CanAm League Rookie of the Year

 

Dylan Tice lead the Boulders in batting average, batting an incredible .327, which currently has him ranked sixth in the league.  The Perkasie, PA native was also named the CanAm Player of the Week to start the season.

 

Mike Montville played in ninety eight games, batting a respectable .238 with thirteen home runs, which had him in the CanAm League Top 10, and had fifty rbi’s.  The versatile outfielder was amazing in the field as well, committing only three errors, in over 1,000 innings played and had 249 put outs on the season.

 

Mike Fransoso, had a tremendous 2017 season, after coming back from a devastating collision with outfielder Jon Smith, causing him to miss about a month of action.  Even with the time off from injury, Fransoso still managed to put up incredible numbers defensively.  His 124 put outs, 50 double plays, and 221 assists in 354 defensive chances made him one of the top shortstops in the league.  His .975 fielding percentage in 83 games also was one of the top in the CanAm this season as well.

 

Joe Maloney had an all-star season, breaking the CanAm League single season home run record with 35.  His 101 RBI’s also led the CanAm League for 2017 as well.  The two time Boulder has also broken the Boulders single season home run and RBI record as well in 2017.
